Add Bing maps layer
We would consider using the Pro version if you'd add Bing maps also. With full zoom of course.

There is legal considerations with this, we would love to add Bing, we’re just not sure if we can do it yet and still work with Google’s APIs.

Add option to select measurement units for line/polygon dimensions
Right now it is only meters/km. Maybe in the line properties you could select the measurement units to display?

There is eventually going to a preference option under the menu, and this is where you will be able to set options.

When importing a spreadsheet, allow for having custom markers such as circles/sequential numbers etc
I have a spreadsheet with many places and lat/long data. When uploading the spreadsheet it seems I can only use the provided markers/tabs etc to visualize these places on a map. However I find the markers are too big and my map gets cluttered quickly plus the markers dont show the info I want. I would like to have small dots / squares or just numbers in different colors or, another possibility, plain text (without a big box) that I can size according to my needs. My final aim is to print out a map, so information shown through clicking… more

Add possibility to define measurement units based on custom image
it would be great to have the possibility to define a certain length on a custom image map, so that later drawn paths can be masured in real world units.

FAQ needed.
I'm new to this program and I have no idea how to use this? ie: how do I change the size of a text box so that it doesnt appear in one long line?

We are working on it, we have a wiki started but we haven’t got around to filling in the initial content http://wiki.scribblemaps.com. If anyone uses Scribble Maps a lot and has wiki experience and are interested in updating it, by all means. We would appreciate it a lot.

add a way to resize an image that is placed on a map
For example, I would like my students to insert images of historical sites along the Nile without the use of markers. With the ability to resize images, we'll be able to fit in a lot of sites. Thanks for the great service!

This might be a little tricky, but we are thinking of ways to do it.

Add option to load map from custom geoserver
as it is possible to host an own geoserver with WMS, WFS and WCS it would be very nice to have the possibility to use scribblemaps on selfmade custom maps.

double click on box to add text
Its rather annoying that when I try to move a text box, the box for typing the text in always appears. It would be better to just double click to add text, single click to move box.

The main reason it is like this is because it might not be evident to non-technical people that you would need to double click to edit (we have a lot of kids that use this). Though we might consider implementing this anyways, or implementing it in the pro version that should be coming out in the coming weeks.

To be able to change line thickness once the scribble is drawn
I don't seem able to select a line and change its colour, thickness or opacity once the line is drawn

We might make this a feature of the paint bucket.

Export map data to Shape file format
I suggest you add the option to export map as shape-file, or even better MapInfo-tab, with point-, line- and polygon data held in one file (or actually group of files with same prefix, different suffices).

import Google Earth KMZ files
Importing GE KLM files is not enough, you are limiting your great application without GE KMZ import capability, so please implement it asap

Text Marker Options
When importing data and using the text marker option, add the ability to change the text format. ie. text size, color and be able to also load without the bubble around the text.

Add a terrain profile tool based on 2 or more points defined by user
The user would click sequentially the points along his polyline in order to generate a terrain profile

add an import specification/template saving feature to ease importing of standardized xls frequently
When you import xls files frequently (I do draw arrows between pairs of points) it would be helpful to have an option to save import specification (which rows go for header, which go for latitude/longitude, marker settings, etc.)

Widget with layer control
Like in the pro-version, it would be useful to have a layer control to switcher layers or objects on and off, without editing. This would be useful when embeded into blogs or other websites.

Print needs to fill the page
When I print I only get a small map in the corner of the page. I want a map that fills the page. It would also be nice to show a box on the map that represents the area that will be printed, otherwise I have to guess.

One way you can do this is to instead use the “save jpeg” functionality, and set it as high you can get it, and then print that.
The printing functionality does need to be upgraded however, it is on our list of things to do.

If add this functionality it will essentially lock the map to your account only. You would not be able to load it or import it from any other account. Is this the functionality you’re looking for?

Separate Move and Change Feature
I use ScribbleMaps to refine the polygon lines generate with an external tool. I add more points and move the point to a more correct position.
It happens, that i sometimes miss a point by one or more pixels, and instead of moving the point, I move the whole polygon line. Since this movement cannot be undone, I have to move the line back. And it't not easy to find the exact same position. It would be a big help if i could only activate the change feature, and deactivate the move feature.
